I’m super excited about doing book readings with Maybelline Has A Very. Bad. Day. I live in Sonoma County, California, so if you are within a 3-hour drive, just reach out to me on the contact form. If you are further afield, and can bundle readings for me in your local area, I’d be very happy to discuss coming to you!

Yes! I currently have a mixed herd of eleven dairy goats: Nigerian Dwarf goats, a small-sized dairy goat, and Nubians, a standard-sized dairy goat. I use them for milking, brush mitigation (prevents fire from spreading), and making compost for my olive trees and garden.

Maybelline was actually a Nubian goat my grandkids raised several years ago. We started making oral stories using her name, so I kept that name for the book series. Currently, Maybelline is based on a Spring 2025 kid named Twilight. She is a lovely, mischievous little goat!

All the other goats featured in the story actually live on my farm! Herd queen Aunt Ivy, Token, Lilly, Coffee and Trudie are all the actual goat I use! Skye is real, but is “Maybelline’s” aunt in real life. Young goat Maddie’s actual name is Tiger Lily. Tiger Lily’s grandma was named Madison, so I named the character in honor of that first spotted goat that I bred on my farm.
